West Yorkshire Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP)

We provided support to the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce in its role as the Employer Representative Body (ERB) to develop, approve and implement the LSIP for West Yorkshire, and submission to the Department for Education.
The work we undertook contributed to the following activities:
A: Articulating Employers’ skills needs – through identification, aggregation and prioritisation of skills needs.
B: Translating employer demand into provision – through mapping of these needs against existing provision; and influencing providers in shaping additional provision.
C: Addressing learner demand and employer engagement – through stimulating demand from learners, to facilitate access to a skilled labour market.
In undertaking this commission we consulted with a wide range of skills stakeholders to inform, resulting in the West Yorkshire LSIP published in July 2023. Read it here: LSIP_West_Yorkshire_2023.pdf
Greater Lincolnshire Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) Project
We were commissioned to provide project management support on the Greater Lincolnshire LSIF project by TEC Partnership. The £3.5m Department for Education funded project supported delivery of 3 strands of activities aligned with the Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland Local Skills Improvement Plan.
We worked with 11 Lincolnshire-based further education providers that came together under the Lincolnshire Skills Partnership to enable capacity building of the sector to meet changing skills needs under the priorities of Decarbonisation and Green Skills, Digitisation and Smarter Working and Essential Skills and Work Readiness.

This is a locally-managed programme providing support to residents and businesses in the most deprived parts of Keighley East, West and Central wards. It is part-funded through European Regional Development Fund and European Social Fund, to ‘encourage local groups & organisations rooted in the community to deliver projects that contribute to increased employment, develop new & existing businesses and improve opportunities to enhance local life’
We supported Bradford Council, as Accountable Body, and the Local Area Group (made up of local representatives), to develop the strategy and secure the funding.
